Hrithik Roshan, the handsome hunk of bollywood who had wowed the audiences with his superhero acts in Krrish and was expected to take it further in its sequel Krrish 2, is not satisfied with the script and the project has been shelved.

 Though several scripts were considered for the sequel, but none of them could win the approval of Hrithik Roshan, who was to be the leading actor of the flick. Sources say that some script were nearing finalization, but either Hrithik Roshan or his father Rakesh Roshan would veto it at the last moment, and the whole exercise would be back to square one. Now, Rakesh Roshan, who was to produce the super hero flick under his production house Film Kraft, has finally decided to shelve the project altogether and concentrate on the completion of upcoming caper ‘Kites’.

Insiders say that another factor for the ‘Krrish 2’ to be shelved was Hrithik Roshan’s unwillingness to work with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, who had been finalized by Rakesh Roshan to direct the sequel. Though, senior Roshan was convinced of Mehra’s directorial credentials but Hrithik was skeptical about it.

Buzz doing the rounds in the industry is that the bad response to Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s ‘Delhi 6’, starring Abhishek Bachchan-Sonam Kapoor, at the box office was still fresh in Hrithik Roshan’s mind and he was not sure if he wanted to work with Rakeysh Mehra. So, when script problem came to the fore, Hrithik had the perfect opportunity to back out of Rakeysh Mehra’s project, and he did precisely that to avoid  repeat of ‘Delhi 6’ for his ambitious sequel ‘Krrish2.’

Now, when ‘Krrish 2’ is not happening, Rakesh Roshan is said to be in search of some other fresh subject for Hrithik Roshan, which could suit him as an international star with a world wide appeal. Rakesh Roshan is sure that Hrithik would become a successful international star after his film ‘Kites’ sees the light of the day.

However, everything is not hunky dory on the ‘Kites’ front and the release of the movie has been deferred to December or early next year. Earlier, Hrithik Roshan-Barbara Mori-Kangna Ranaut starrer mega-budget film was expected to hit theatres during Diwali festivities this year itself.

The grapevine has it that the main reason behind this unexpected delay is once again the hot steamy sequences between leading man Hrithik Roshan and sizzling hot Latin beauty Barbara Mori. Rakesh Roshan, who is producer of the film, wants these scenes to be cut out from the final print as they would further spell trouble in Hrithik’s marital life with Suzanne Roshan.

But, director Anurag Basu is insistent on keeping those sequences as they form the integral part of the story of the film.

Another factor for the delay is said to be unavailability of a suitable Hollywood distributor for the film.
