Shah Rukh Khan, the badshah of bollywood who loves to flaunt his success and numero uno status in tinsel town (remember …‘I am Shah Rukh Khan ….I can do anything’  ... while smoking ….during a cricket match), has decided to celebrate his wife Gauri’s birthday without any usual hullabaloo in Rome.




Shah Rukh Khan’s better half will be turning forty on October 8 and the couple has already left the country to celebrate the occasion quietly in the Italian capital. The buzz doing the rounds in the industry is that the change in Shah Rukh Khan’s attitude towards Gauri Khan’s birthday bash has something to do with his bitter experience at Katrina Kaif’s birthday party with Salman Khan.



Now King Khan is said to have become fed- up with media attention on his every move and wants to flee from the maddening fans and crowds, surrounding his mansion ‘Mannat’ on such occasions.

Sources close to Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan say that the couple wants to do it differently this time. In fact, they will not be doing any starry things during their celebrations in Rome and instead will go for ordinary tourist itinerary of a common man-- like sight seeing, dining out etc.

It is for this reason that Shah Rukh Khan has avoided going to London, Dubai or the US for his celebrations this time, despite the fact that he has a massive fan following as well as his own office in London and Dubai. On the contrary, Shah Rukh Khan is hardly known in Italy and thus may have difficulty in arranging things for himself.

The grapevine has it that Salman Khan factor has also come back with a bang after his latest flick ‘Wanted’ proved to be a super hit at the box office. Shah Rukh Khan’s think tank is of the view that the success will encourage Salman to indulge in further verbal attacks and so it’s better to go to Europe than remaining in Mumbai during such a volatile time.

Another theory doing the rounds in the industry is that Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan were also influenced by the latest attacks on Karan Johar’s flick ‘Wake Up Sid’ in the local politics of Mumbai. As Karan Johar is a very close friend of Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan, they did not want to celebrate the occasion when Karan had to apologize to get his films smoothly screened in the city of Mumbai.
