Amitabh Bachchan, the Shehanshah of bollywood who plays a thirteen-year-old boy in Balki’s upcoming flick ‘Paa’, will be introduced in the credit titles of the flick by none other than his wife, and matinee idol, Jaya Bachchan.



As the film is a home production of Amitabh Bachchan (AB Corp is producing it), director Balki did not have much difficulty in getting Mrs. Bachchan, who is also a Member of Parliament, to do the honor. The movie is not only unique in its storyline (Big B plays son to Abhishek Bachchan and Vidya Balan), but is also expected to redeem the fortunes of sinking AB Corp, the production house of Bachchans.


It was director Balki, who thought of doing this introduction thing, instead of going with a regular display of the names of cast and crew in the film.

The need to have someone to introduce the progeria- ridden character of Amitabh Bachchan was felt precisely because of the fact that Big B has not played this kind of role in his illustrious career till date. His makeover has been done by make- up artistes from Hollywood, who have completely transformed his look to that of a 13-year-old school going kid in the flick.

Jaya Bachchan is a recognized personality in bollywood through her acting and hit films, including the likes of ‘Guddi’ ‘Naukar’, ‘Sholay’ etc. She has her own fan following and her inclusion in the flick, even if only for introduction purposes will add more attraction to it.

On the other hand, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, the gorgeous Bachchan bahu, has also been roped in to oversee the marketing of the film. Sources close to Bachchans say that Aishwarya Rai has decided to give the marketing of ‘Paa’ full time, after the completion of her ongoing project, Mani Rathnam’s ‘Raavan.’

In fact, it is Aishwarya Rai who decides about the special events to be organized for the promotion of ‘Paa’. She not only participates in the meetings of creative team in this regard, but also makes suggestions to make the flick a household name before its theatrical release all over the world.

‘Paa’ is a flick which revolves around the life of a 13-year-old kid who suffers from progeria. It’s a rare genetic disorder where the person ages faster than other normal people. To portray the character realistically, Amitabh Bachchan’s face had to be made of eight pieces of clay and later joined by an electronic spray.

The buzz doing the rounds in the industry is that Big B has done amazing work in the flick and it is going to be one of the best works from him in his long chequred acting career in bollywood.
