Aamir Khan, the perfectionist actor of bollywood who plays the character of an engineering student Rancho in Rajkumar Hirani’s upcoming flick ‘Three Idiots’, has made it clear that his character in the flick may be idiot but he is not a stupid.



 Aamir Khan, who has been going all out to promote the first song ‘Jab Life Ho out of Control, all izz well’ of ‘3 Idiots’, sees a fine distinction between the two terms. As the perfectionist star of bollywood sees it, an idiot can prove himself to be of more caliber than other normal people at one or some other time, and this distinguishes him from stupid.


Aamir says that stupid word is generally associated with ‘dumb guys’ and the characters of Sharman Joshi, R Madhvan and Kareena Kapoor in the flick are not dumb.

Aamir Khan, who is in his forties, was required by the director to play the part of an engineering student. Aamir, being the perfectionist star of bollywood, took the challenge in his stride and went on a working out spree and played badminton for almost a year to lose his weight.

Finally, Aamir Khan was able to lose 10 kg of his weight to play the character of an engineering student in ‘3 Idiots’. Earlier, he had put on weight and worked out very hard to get that eight- pack- abs for his super duper hit action flick ‘Ghajini’.

After losing weight, Aamir Khan needed to look like engineering students, and it was here that his film ‘Ghajini’ director Murugadoss’ clothes came in handy. Aamir had always been fascinated by Murugadoss’ ways of wearing lose T-shirts and borrowed some from him to enact his role of a student in ‘3 Idiots.’

‘3 Idiots’ is based on prolific novelist Chetan Bhagat’s renowned novel. The flick is being produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and directed by Rajkumar Hirani of ‘Munnabhai MBBS’ fame.    

The buzz doing the rounds in the industry is that Aamir Khan was not quite pleased with the editing work of the flick and felt that Sharman Joshi’s character got more footage than him. There was even the talk of Aamir Khan having a difference of opinion on this with director Rajkumar Hirani, who refused to cut Sharman’s character in the film.

The film is due for release on December 25 this year and before that date Aamir Khan might have his way with director Rajkumar Hirani, who can not afford to refuse anything to such a big star.
