Om Puri, the veteran actor of bollywood who has made several characters memorable in his checkered filmy career, became a villain in the eyes of his wife Nandita Puri and son Ishaan when he blasted them over his biography ‘Unlikely Hero: The Story Of Om Puri.’



The biography, which has been written by Om Puri’s wife Nandita Puri and is yet to be published, was slammed by the actor for revealing the details of his sexual encounters with a maid ‘Shanti’, when he was only fourteen years of age. It also relates a story about Om Puri’s sexual encounters with a woman named ‘Laxmi’.



This exposure of Om Puri’s private sex life by his own journalist wife Nandita had infuriated the actor, and he slammed her by saying that he would never forgive her, so what if she was his wife.

The buzz doing the rounds in the industry is that the sexual portion of the Om Puri’s biography was leaked by the publishers to create the buzz before its release in the market. However, Om Puri did not see the whole thing in that light and cursed his wife for making private sexual act public.

Sources close to Om Puri say that the actor was shooting at that time in Chandigarh for a film, and so did not know the details about the whole affair. However, when the revelations came to him, he blasted Nandita due to his impulsive nature, without checking the facts of the matter.

Now, the reports say that the veteran Om Puri has asked for forgiveness from his wife and son Eshaan for his outbursts about the book. Om feels that due to his slamming on the issue, Nandita and Eshaan were feeling vulnerable and helpless in Mumbai, while he was away on an outdoor spell.

It may be recalled that Om Puri has been one of the best actors of bollywood, who was closely associated with the movement of parallel cinema pioneered by the likes of Shyam Benegal and his kind of realistic films. ‘Ardhasatya’ was one of the memorable movies of Om Puri from that era. However, later he turned to commercial cinema and even here made his mark in character roles.

Om Puri also features in Karan Johar’s upcoming mega budget flick ‘Kurbaan’, which stars Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan in the main lead. The film has been directed by Rensil D’silva and produced by Karan Johar. The movie is due for a worldwide release on November 20, and Om Puri plays a pivotal role in the flick.
