Kareena Kapoor, the sizzling hot bollywood babe who popularized size- zero- figure in the country and plays lead role of Avanitka in Karan Johar’s upcoming flick ‘Kurbaan’, has termed the whole protest business as ‘joke’.



The gorgeous babe stood her grounds and refused to accept the accusation that her bare back images in the publicity posters of ‘Kurbaan’ spoiled the ethos of Indian culture in any way. In fact, the tearing of the posters of flick from Juhu and Andheri areas by some activists of Sena and presenting her with a saree, seemed to her more like tokenism than anything else.



The gutsy diva of bollywood, who has been currently shooting for Karan Johar’s upcoming flick ‘Stepmom’ in Sydney, Australia, has asked for a suitably expensive saree, commensurate with her sizzling figure and status, to cover her bare back. ‘Kurbaan’ also stars Saif Ali Khan, Vivek Oberoi and Dia Mirza in pivotal roles.

The bare back images of Kareena Kapoor had appeared on the posters of Karan Johar’s upcoming flick ‘Kurbaan’, which is due for a worldwide release on November 20. Kareena’s back is shown as nude, while Saif Ali Khan’s chest has a bullet wound and blood is oozing out of it.

The protesters hold the backless image of Kareena Kapoor to be against the Hindu culture of the state and tore posters in some areas of the city. Later, they even tried to march towards Kareena Kapoor’s residence to present a saree to cover her back. Kareena Kapoor was reacting to this saree presentation from the activists of Sena.

Though, Kareena Kapoor vehemently opposed the culture argument from the activists of a political party, but she is reported to have felt nervous about those scenes and does not want her mother Babita to watch them.

The buzz doing the rounds in the industry is that after watching the first final print of the film at Yashraj Studios, Kareena Kapoor requested producer Karan Johar to edit out the love making bare back portions from the film, whenever her mom watches the flick with her friends at Yashraj.

However, Karan Johar refused to oblige Kareena Kapoor, saying that there was nothing wrong or vulgar in that. In fact, those who have watched the flick say that the said intimate sequences have been shot very aesthetically and form integral part of the flick.

‘Kurbaan’ is releasing on November 20 at about 1700 theatres in India and abroad. Sources say that Karan Johar’s plan is to recover the cost of around Rs 50 crore in the first week itself by releasing the flick at maximum centers across the world.
