Vinod Kambli, the reputed cricketer and a langotia yaar(childhood friend) of legendary Sachin ‘Master Blaster’ Tendulkar who had entered the Bigg Boss’ house two weeks ago through a wild card, has been ousted from the show due to the least number of votes that he received.



Though five other contestants—Rohit Verma, Pravesh Rana, Bakhtiyaar Irani, Aditi Gowitrikar and  Claudia—were also nominated with him, but they all polled more number of votes than Vinod Kambli could manage for himself. When Amitabh Bachchan, who has been hosting the third season of the reality show, announced the name of Vinod Kambli to be evicted this week, there was all around an air of shock and disbelief.


It was clear that Vinod Kambli’s association with the renowned cricketer did not help him in garnering the SMSes from his fans or supporters.

The eviction of Vinod Kambli was more shocking to the viewers and contestants alike, as he was the one person who was not only decent but also never indulged in conspiracy and plotting in the house. Vinod had been maintaining a decent relationship with all the housemates and was never involved in any controversy.

The insiders reveal that Vinod Kambli’s goodness might be the reason for his ouster. In fact, they  point out that plotting and creating trouble in the Bigg Boss’ house is a must for all the contestants to attract eyeballs and boost TRPs, and if it is not so, the contestant is  shown the door.

 In support of their view point, they cite the example of Rohit Verma and Kamaal Rashid Khan. Everybody knows that Rohit Verma is the worst contestant on the show and has always been involved in the mean game of bitching behind back, but he still managed to survive, as his antics attract viewers and boost TRPs.

Kamaal Rashid Khan, who had earlier been forcibly ousted from the show for his violent and aggressive behavior, has been given another chance to enter the show for the similar reason. In fact, the channel believes that after Kamaal’s exit from the show, the ratings had taken a beating and his return would help shoot up the viewer-ship.

Another theory doing the rounds in the industry regarding Vinod Kambli’s ouster relates the whole thing to his earlier outburst against Sachin Tendulkar on ‘Sach Ka Saamna’ with Rajeev Khandelwal.  In response to a question, Vinod Kambli had accused Sachin Tendulkar of not helping him, when he needed him most.

 In fact, Vinod had gone to the extent of saying that Sachin could have helped him in resurrecting his cricketing career, but did not do so. This might have infuriated Vinod Kambli and Sachin Tendulkar’s fans and they voted against him on Bigg Boss 3, which finally led to his ouster.
