Abhishek Bachchan, the handsome hunk of bollywood and scion of renowned Bachchan family who owns AB Corp and is in the final stage of releasing its upcoming flick ‘Paa’ starring Amitabh, has signed on southern dancing sensation Prabhu Devaa for his next production.



Sources close to Bachchans say that Prabhu Devaa, who had directed Salman Khan in super duper hit ‘Wanted’ has agreed to direct a film featuring Abhishek Bachchan for A B Corp. The buzz doing the rounds in the industry is that Prabhu Devaa has already started working on the script of the flick, which is likely to have a lot of romantic and action sequences.



In any case, Prabhu Devaa has always been known for his super action sequences as well as liberal romantic flicks in the southern film industry, and this time he is going to apply the same formula in bollywood with Abhishek. The movie will go on the floor in the month of June next year.

The industry watchers are looking at Abhishek Bachchan signing Prabhu Devaa to direct a flick for AB Corp as the continuation of Aishwarya Rai’s effort to make their production houses (ABCL & AB Corp) stand on their feet. Aishwarya has already taken over the marketing of Amitabh Bachchan starrer flick ‘Paa’ to help her home banner count in the industry.

However, it was not easy for Abhishek Bachchan to rope in Prabhu Devaa to work for AB Corp, especially so after the super success of Salman Khan starrer ‘WANTED’. In fact, Boney Kapoor, who had produced ‘Wanted ‘, was also in the fray to sign Prabhu, but it was Abhishek who finally succeeded in attracting the talented director.

The grapevine has it that Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan have taken over the charge of running Amitabh Bachchan’s home production, and are already in talks with several new talented directors to make films for their banner.

The signing of Prabhu Devaa for a film is only first step in that direction and the Bachchans are also in talks with other directors like Sanjay Gadhvi, R. Balki and several others. In fact, Aishwarya Rai is said to have been regularly sitting for script sessions with aspiring filmmakers to finalize the script.

‘Paa’ which stars Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and Vidya Balan in the lead is due for a worldwide release on December 4. The film has Amitabh Bachchan playing a 13- year- old child ‘Auro’, who suffers from a rare disease of progeria. The disease causes him to prematurely age in the flick.

Abhishek Bachchan, Amitabh’s son, is enacting the character of Big B’s father in the flick, while Vidya Balan is his mother. Vidya is a school teacher in the film, while Abhishek Bachchan plays a politician.
