Aamir Khan’s starrer latest flick ‘3 Idiots’ has lived up to its hype and fetched Rs 29 crore on its first day of release creating a sort of record.



Aamir Khan’s latest flick, which also has Kareena Kapoor, Sharman Joshi and R Madhavan playing pivotal roles, had the audiences going crazy over a ticket. The multiplexes took full advantage of the public frenzy and hiked the prices of tickets across the board for Aamir Khan’s ‘3 Idiots’.




On an average, the increase has been around twenty five percent per ticket. This has helped multiplexes not only rake in huge moolah but also provide audiences with tea and snacks in the morning shows. Sources say that the extended weekend has helped the film in attracting the audiences towards theatres. Some trade sources say that the film has raked in more moolah than even Aamir Khan’s earlier blockbuster ‘Ghajini’.

Sources from the trade say that the ‘3 Idiots’ had already created a record on Thursday by raking in around Rs 2.5 crores from paid reviews on Thursday. No other bollywood biggie had ever been able to collect this amount through its paid reviews so far.

Another factor which is said to have helped Aamir Khan’s ‘3 Idiots’ in earning huge amount on its first day is its wide release across the world by Reliance Big Pictures. According to sources close to distributors, the film has been released in 32 countries simultaneously across seventeen hundred sixty six screens.

The audiences are amazed at Aamir Khan and director Rajkumar Hirani for the selection of unconventional subject for their new picture. Aamir Khan’s portrayal of the character of Rancho is being liked by the people for its originality and honesty. The film is also being seen as a message to our education establishment, which lays emphasis on cramming rather than learning in a practical way.

‘3 Idiots’ is story of three engineering students Aamir Khan, Sharman Joshi and Madhavan. Aamir Khan inspires Sharman and Madhavan to do the things in life on their own terms. Even the true meaning of IDIOTS is ‘I Do It On my Terms’ and not a fool, as is taken in general conversation.

Aamir promoted the flick by disappearing some time before the release of the film and visited Varanasi, Chanderi, Sourabh Ganguly’s house and a wedding in Punjab. Aamir’s character ‘Rancho’ disappears in the film in a similar fashion and his friends Sharman, Madhavan go to search him.
