STORY
The theme of the flick revolves around the character of a middle class woman Rajeshwari (Tabu) who wants to marry her younger sister Nisha (Uvika Chaudhary) to one of the best possible boys available in the Saxena community. As Rajeshwari is against the system of dowry, her choice becomes very narrow in the matter but she uses every method to get to the right choice.
Her first target is Rahul(Sharman Joshi), who is not only from Saxena community but also has a bright future with his upcoming engineering degree from a good college. Rajeshwari who lives with her two children Geet and Suraj, invites the guy to stay at her home as a paying guest.
Rajeshwari’s game plan is to introduce Nisha with Rahul and then get them going out with each other. She succeeds and Rahul-Nisha fall in love. All this, despite of the fact that Rahul had not been interested in commitment or marriage at the initial stages of his interaction with Nisha.

In fact, Nisha was not only beautiful and charming but also had a heart of gold. She loved helping the uneducated and poor. However, she was totally besotted by Rahul’s charm and would never be able to think of separation from him.
But the separation was the exact thing that Rajeshwari wanted after she saw Yuvraj (Vatshal Seth). Yuvraj was not only rich and sophisticated but also a saxena, and hence, fulfilled the conditions of Rajeshwari for marriage with Nisha.
But Nisha was not prepared to break her relationship with Rahul, as wanted by Rajeshwari. However, Rajeshwari was hell bent on doing so. What happens after that, if Rajeshwari was successful in her plan of getting Nisha separated from Rahul, etc, is revealed in the remaining part of the flick.
PERFORMANCE
Tabu, who plays the character of elder sister Rajeshwari in the film, comes out with a winning performance. Her concern for her younger sister’s marriage is so typical of middle class India in smaller towns and the lady succeeds in portraying it with conviction on the celluloid.
Her character makes the film watchable and audiences can relate to it. However, her scheming and plotting to get Vatsal Seth and Sharman Joshi dancing to her tune seems far fetched and unconvincing.

Sharman Joshi, who plays the character of Rahul, exudes charm. In fact, Sharman Joshi seems to have been moving forward after working with perfectionist Aamir Khan in super duper hit flick ‘3 Idiots’.
Yuvika Chaudhary, who plays the younger sister of Tabu, passes the muster in looks department. However, the lady did not have much scope to showcase her histrionics in the film.
Similarly, Vatsal Seth and Ayub Khan are competent in their respective roles. Himani Shivpuri is run of the mill, while Upasana Singh goes over the top.
The direction of Kedar Shinde is only average. In fact, the director seems to have been let down by a poor script at many places. However, Shinde has handled Tabu and Sharman Johsi’s sequences quite comfortably and ably.
The music by Pritam does not add much value to the flick. Only ‘Jis Din Mera Byaah’ track is likely to be popular with the audiences. Dialogues pass the muster.
STARDUST VERDICT
Tabu has done good work and may attract family audiences towards theatre. But overall the flick does not stand much chance at the box office due to its half measures. An average flick.
