Dharmendra, the veteran actor of bollywood who gave such memorable films as ‘Sholay’, ‘Jugunu’ ‘Raja Jaani’ with dream girl Hema Malini, was hospitalized at PGI after he complained of chest pain and uneasiness during the shooting of his upcoming flick ‘Yamla, Pagla, Deewana’ in Patiala, state of Punjab.




 Dr Talwar, who attended the original he- man of bollywood, conducted several tests and diagnosed the condition to be ‘Transient Ischemic attack’, which might have occurred due to stress and tension. The team of doctors also conducted an MRI test on the 74 –year- old Dharmendra and assured the family members that nothing was serious. Dharmendra’s first wife (Hema Malini is Dharmendra’s second wife) Prakash Kaur reached the hospital within hours and remained there with her husband.




Sunny Deol, the elder son of Dharmendra, also rushed to the hospital and spent some time with him. After keeping him under observation for twenty four hours, Doctors discharged the macho actor. Dharmendra, who is now settled in Mumbai, had come all the way from Punjab to become an actor. It is for this reason that the actor has a special liking for the state and was in Patiala to shoot for one of his favorite upcoming projects.

Dharmendra had also dabbled in politics and was elected to Parliament from Bikaner in Rajasthan. As Dharmendra was a Jat and the constituency had a majority of his fellow Jats, he did not have much difficulty in winning the seat. However, he could not satisfy the aspirations of the public and later decided to leave the seat in future elections.

Dharmendra’s second wife Hema Malini, who is a Rajya Sabha MP from the Bharatiya Janta Party, has been appointed a Vice President of the party and enjoying her stint. Dharmendra and Hema Malini have two lovely daughters—Esha Deol and Aahna Deol.
