STORY
The story revolves around the character of Captain Javed Khan (Deepak Dobriyal) who fought with dedication and bravery for his country but was betrayed by his own friends and is charged with treason and mutiny. Then there is Siddhant (Rahul Bose), who dreads reality and wants to avoid it from facing at all cost. On the other hand, Kavvya wonders why people avoid speaking truth and facing the real situations. Brigadier Pratap(Kay Kay Menon) goes by his own rule book and never tolerates any interference even on humanitarian ground.
A conspiracy is hatched against Captain Javed and he is charged with treason and murder of his colleague. Javed is to face court martial but does not want to open his mouth to reveal the truth as he thinks that the secret is more important than his life and should be protected at all cost.
This case comes to Akash(Jaaved Jafferi) and Siddhant, who are lawyers by profession, but hold diametrically opposite views on life. While Akash thinks that winning is all that matters in life, Siddhant finds a new menaing of life in Srinagar following the interaction with Kavya, Javed and Brigadier Pratap.

What happens to Javed and why he was refusing to open his mouth is revealed in the climax sequence of the film.
PERFORMANCE
Rahul Bose is brilliant in the portrayal of his character Siddhant, who is lawyer by profession. The character suits his personality to a T and he successfully conveys every emotion of his character on screen. This is undoubtedly one of his best performances till date. Kay Kay Menon has done an excellent job in the character of Brigadier Pratap and his performance in the climax sequence is especially worthy of praise. Jaaved Jafferi is good in the part of Akash, but has not been given much scope by the script after a while. Minissha Lamba looks natural and plays her part quite efficiently. Amrita Rao and Seema Biswas are very good in their respective characters and come out with flying colors. Deepak Dobriyal gives a good performance and makes his silence speak eloquently for his character.

The direction by Samar Khan is superb and he has not let his grip on the narration slip. He is also successful in extracting top notch performances from his lead players. The narration is tight and never deviates from its original point. However, the film could have been better with editing of some fifteen twenty minutes of second half, where it seems to drag. The ‘Dheere Dheere’ number of Adnan Sami is melodious. The cinematography by Carlos Catalan is of good quality.
STARDUST VERDICT
This is a good film made with a different kind of story but will attract only classes and not masses who want entertainment. Being a serious film, it will not find many takers at the box office despite of good performances by Rahul Bose and others.
