STORY
The film revolves around the life of a don Mungilal (Anupam Kher) and his search for a waaris to lord over his empire. Mungilal was a small time bhai in Mumbai during seventies but after he fled Bombay due to police pressure, an illegal empire was built by him in Bangkok. But as the don is not married, he has no waaris and this fact is exploited by the rival don Gulshan Grover (Fursat Lala) at the meeting of All Asian Bhai Meet (AABM).
Fursat Lala proposes a developmental plan for a piece of land in Alibaug and wants the syndicate to approve it. Fursat’s plan envisages that he should be given the land to open a casino on it and also that the seat of new don of Mumbai should go to him as he has a waaris to look after. His contention is that as Mungilal had no waaris, he did not have any locus standi on the land and Mumbai.
However, Mungilal somehow persuades the syndicate to give him one month time to present a plan and a waaris before it. Jignesh (Satish Shah), who came with Mungilal from Mumbai and currently manages Mungi’s business, is disturbed at the promises made by Mungi to the syndicate.

In the meantime, Mungi receives a letter from his sister Angoori (Bhavana Balsawar). The letter mentions that Angoori gave birth to Kamal, who had many similarities with the features of Mungilal. Mungi’s joy has no bound and he hires a detective Johnny English (Satish Kaushik) to search for Kamal and promises him to give Rs 50lakhs if work is done.
Johnny persuades an NRI (Samir Dattani) to act as Kamal before Mungi and takes him to Bangkok, but another guy Shaad Randhawa has already reached there to claim that he was the real Kamal. Similarly, Shivani (Aarti Chhabria) and Jia (Shama Sikandar) also came to claim that they knew the real Kamal. However, fearing that the truth will come out all the false claimants try to flee after stealing money from the old man. But soon they come to know that Mungi is a dreaded don and not an ordinary old man.
What happens to whom and how the issue is resolved afterwards forms the climax sequences and remainder of the film.
PERFORMANCE
Sammir Dattani, in the character of an NRI, does a fair job. The young actor also shows flair for dancing in the opening track of the film. Shaad Randhawa, who goes to Anupam Kher’s place claiming to be the real Kamal, does well and shows special talent in mimicking the bollywood biggies. Aarti Chhabria and Shama Sikandar add oomph factor to the film.
Anupam Kher, who plays a don Mungilal, is natural to the core. Satish Kaushik is superb in the character of Johnny English and makes the comedy credible with his antics. Gulshan Grover lives up to his reputation. Satish Shah, who plays Anupam Kher’s buddy Jignesh, is convincing and portrays the character with élan. Deepsshikha is first rate in the film.

The direction of Shashi Ranjan is good in first half of the film but somehow he seems to have lost the grip in the second half. He has extracted best performances from Satish Kaushik and others, making the audiences laugh in the first half. But writers have let him down in the second half, which is relatively boring and tries the patience of the viewers.
The music by Roopkumar Rathod is catchy and likely to be popular with the masses. The title track and ‘Ishq Ka Rog Laga’ numbers are very good and will help the film to a certain extent. Ashwani Dhir’s dialogues are good. Cinematographer has done a great job.
STARDUST VERDICT
In nutshell, this comedy film will not be able to do much at the box office due to its weak second half and lack of face value to attract the audiences at the initial stages. A below average fare.
